RANGES V was written by
Dr. Robert Kenward, an eminent figure in the world of radio-tracking. After the success of his first book, "Wildlife Radio Tagging", Academic press asked for a sequel "A Manual For Wildlife Radio Tagging" that was published in 2001. This popular book has been backed up by a wealth of first class publications, covering many species, going back to the 1970s. Here are a selection of publications for which the RANGES suite has been used, and which have stimulated the continuing evolution of the software.  He is currently a Fellow at CEH Dorset.

Dr. Sean Walls has built up years of experience radio-tracking small mammals, giant jumping rats, squirrels and buzzards. As well as practical fieldwork and analysis, Sean is Applied Research Director at BIOTRACK LTD., who make radio-tags. This keeps him in constant contact with researchers from around the world who need advice on radio-tracking. He is keen to make all tools as user-friendly as possible. He completed his doctorate on "How sociality, weather and other factors affect the leaving, settling and transition phases of dispersal in the buzzard, Buteo buteo".

Previous staff

Dr. Andy South has now moved to use his spatial skills for the management of fisheries. While at Anatrack he was responsible for creating the Windows version of RANGES. Before this he carried out a doctorate on "Modelling the Spatial Distribution of Mammals".
